Camouflage is so much more than mimicking patterns and colors in the environment. The problem with many existing camouflages is that they have far too low a contrast. From a distance, the pattern blends into a single color and you become visible to the animal.

Instead, DESOLVE® was inspired by how animals themselves camouflage themselves against each other, such as tigers and leopards. The colors are similar to those of their surroundings, but instead of having twigs and leaves on their bodies as human camouflage is often designed, these animals have patterns in black that form a strong contrast to the base color of their fur. These patterns break up the body shape and allow these hunting animals to get to their prey unnoticed.

DESOLVE® works the same way. The colors of the patterns match the area you are hunting in, but beyond that, the primary function of the pattern is to break up your human form. Using a unique pixel pattern that alternates small and large pixels, it creates a high contrast that makes you invisible at all distances.
